Gas line installation begins April 21 on Naughright Rd in Washington Township, Morris County, will expand to additional streets
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – The Washington Township Police Department is alerting motorists to an upcoming infrastructure enhancement project that will begin on Monday, April 21, at 7:00 a.m. Construction will take place in the area of Naughright Road and Flocktown Road.
This project will involve the installation of a new gas line, starting near the intersection of Naughright Road and Flocktown Road, and extending north on Naughright Road toward Spring Lane. The construction is expected to continue along Spring Lane, move toward Shadow Hill Way, and reach the area around Hastings, including Knob Hill Road.
As work progresses, detours may change, with traffic rerouted through the Flocktown Road, Nestlingwood Road, and Spring Lane areas. Motorists traveling through these zones or using detours are urged to be considerate of local residents and exercise caution.
“We ask drivers to reduce their speeds and remain alert as they navigate through residential neighborhoods,” said the Washington Township Police Department.
The Washington Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM) will provide ongoing updates on road closures and detours throughout the duration of the project. Road closures are expected on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for the next several weeks.
“We apologize for the delays in advance, but the infrastructure improvements are necessary. We know it’s a bit frustrating with all the other traffic delays in the area, but we appreciate your patience,” the police department added.
