Off-peak daytime travel restrictions scheduled for inspections at and near the Delaware Water Gap toll bridge, Apr. 21-24

Off-peak daytime travel restrictions are set to take place in the vicinity of the Delaware Water Gap (I-80) Toll Bridge during the week of April 21 to allow for scheduled inspections of the bridge and related facilities.

The following locations include:

  • River Road beneath the toll bridge on the New Jersey side — alternating traffic southbound, 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 21.

  • River Road beneath the toll bridge on the New Jersey side — alternating traffic northbound, 9:30 a.m. to noon, Monday, April 21.

  • I-80 westbound off-ramp to River Road – last NJ exit — lane shift, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, April 21.

  • I-80 westbound on the toll bridge — single travel lane (one of two lanes closed), 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 22.

  • I-80 eastbound and westbound on the toll bridge — single travel lane (one of two lanes in each direction closed), 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 23.

  • Rain date – I-80 eastbound and westbound on the toll bridge — single travel lane (one of two lanes in each direction closed), 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, April 24 (if needed).

The travel restrictions will enable engineers to inspect the toll bridge and related facilities in accordance with the Federal Highway Administration and the National Bridge Inspection Standards.

Motorists are urged to reduce speeds and exercise caution. The travel restrictions are subject to change due to weather, emergencies, and other factors.
