Police respond to report of armed man in Washington Borough; no threat to public

WASHINGTON BOROUGH, N.J. (Warren County) — A man was taken into custody without incident Wednesday evening after Washington Township police responded to a report of an individual with a weapon at a residence on Broad Street.

Officers were dispatched to the scene around 7:43 p.m., and as a precaution, residents in the area were advised to remain indoors during the investigation.

The suspect was located nearby and apprehended without further issue, police said. Following a thorough investigation, authorities confirmed the incident was isolated and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
