Motorcyclist ejected, injured in I-78 crash in Somerset County

BEDMINSTER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — A motorcyclist was injured Sunday afternoon after being ejected during a collision on Interstate 78 East, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Jeffrey Lebron.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 4:42 p.m. near milepost 28.2 in Bedminster Township. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Yamaha motorcycle and a Jeep SUV were involved in the crash, which caused the operator of the motorcycle to be ejected.

The rider sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, Sgt. Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
