Passenger arrested after traffic stop leads to drug paraphernalia, false ID charges in Morris County
DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Morris County man was arrested Saturday after a traffic stop on Indian Road in Denville Township, where police say he provided a false identity and was found in possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to authorities, on July 12, officers stopped a vehicle after observing the driver and front-seat passenger not properly wearing seat belts. During the stop, the passenger gave officers a false name, but a brief investigation revealed his true identity as Eduardo M. Vallejo, 37, of Roxbury Township.
Vallejo was arrested and charged with hindering apprehension and possession of drug paraphernalia. A search incident to his arrest uncovered drug-related items in his possession, police said.
He was also found to have an outstanding warrant from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office and a warrant out of Roxbury Township Municipal Court. Vallejo was issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seat belt and given a future court date.
Following processing at Denville Police Headquarters, Vallejo was turned over to the Morris County Sheriff’s Office and taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility.
