RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — The Longo Planetarium at County College of Morris (CCM) is offering one last chance this summer to catch its current lineup of shows before a new schedule launches in the fall.
Now through Saturday, Aug. 23, visitors can enjoy three productions in the planetarium’s air-conditioned theater, featuring the Digistar 7 system on a 33-foot dome.
“Mars: The Ultimate Voyage,” a 45-minute show about humanity’s first mission to the Red Planet, will be presented Fridays, Aug. 8, 15 and 22 at 9 p.m., and Saturdays, Aug. 9, 16 and 23 at 3:30 p.m. It is recommended for ages 8 and older.
“Edge of Darkness,” narrated by Hayley Atwell, takes viewers on a space journey from comets to Pluto. The 45-minute production will be shown Saturdays, Aug. 9, 16 and 23 at 5 p.m. and is recommended for ages 8 and up.
“One Sky: Sky Stories from Around the Globe,” a 40-minute compilation of short films from different cultures, will be shown Fridays, Aug. 8, 15 and 22 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturdays, Aug. 9, 16 and 23 at 2 p.m. It is recommended for ages 6 and older.
Tickets are $10 per person, and online reservations are encouraged due to limited seating. CCM is located at 214 Center Grove Road, Randolph. Parking is available in Lot 7, with signs leading to the planetarium in Cohen Hall, Room 207.
