Suzanna’s Kitchen recalls 62,550 pounds of breaded chicken shipped to restaurants nationwide over undeclared soy allergen
Suzanne’s Kitchen of Suwanee, Ga., is recalling about 62,550 pounds of fully cooked, bone-in breaded chicken because the products contain soy that is not declared on the label, federal food safety officials announced.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said the misbranding and undeclared allergen affect 8-piece cut, bone-in breaded chicken portions produced on Oct. 16, 2025.
The recalled product is packed in 18-pound cases containing four units labeled “FULLY COOKED BREADED CHICKEN PORTIONS,” with case code “P-1380 126237 B30851 23:11 K04” printed on the side of the packaging. The cases bear the USDA mark of inspection and establishment number “P-1380” on the side panel.
According to FSIS, the products were shipped to restaurant locations nationwide. No retail packages for consumers were listed in the notice.
The issue was discovered after the company notified FSIS that it had identified chicken containing soy that had been mistakenly labeled with a non-allergen product code.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions linked to the recalled chicken. However, officials urged anyone who may have eaten the product and is concerned about a reaction to contact a healthcare provider. Soy is a common allergen that can cause serious reactions in sensitive individuals.
FSIS said it is concerned that some product may still be in restaurant refrigerators or freezers. Restaurants are urged not to serve the affected chicken and to discard any remaining product.
The agency said it will conduct routine recall effectiveness checks to verify that customers have been notified and that the recalled product is no longer available. When available, distribution details will be posted on the FSIS website at fsis.usda.gov/recalls.
