Warren County honors artists during annual Senior Citizen Art Show reception
WHITE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Warren County officials recently honored local senior artists during the annual Warren County Senior Citizen Art Show and Artists’ Reception at the Richard D. Gardner Branch of the Warren County Library.
Commissioner Director Lori Ciesla and Commissioner James R. Kern III attended the reception to congratulate participating artists and recognize award winners whose work will advance to the New Jersey Senior Citizen Art Show later this year.
The annual exhibition is presented through a partnership involving the Warren County Department of Land Preservation’s Division of Cultural and Heritage Affairs, the Warren County Department of Human Services, the Division of Aging and Disability Services and the Warren County Library System.
Funding for the program was provided in part through the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and support from the Warren County Board of County Commissioners.
Artists competed in professional and non-professional divisions across multiple categories, including acrylic, watercolor, photography, oil painting and works on paper.

First-place winners advancing to the statewide competition include Sue Ellen Mikowski in non-professional acrylic, Leslie Schweitzer Miller in professional acrylic, Lori Henderson in non-professional photography, Bern Yates in professional photography, Richard Kleber in non-professional oil, Shirley Spangler in non-professional watercolor, Pamela Dulaff in professional watercolor and Suzanne Cadwalader in non-professional works on paper.
Additional award recipients included Julie Wane, Isabella Pizzano, Gail Speirs, John Pols, Peggy Niece, Joanne Cowley, Susan Hammond, Linda Aller, Shirley MaComber, John LaPadula, Valerie Gratacos, Patricia Peters, Kirk Smith, Lorraine Myers and Hillary Hill.
The artwork will remain on display during regular business hours at the Richard D. Gardner Branch Library, located at 2 Shotwell Drive in Belvidere, through Aug. 25, 2026.
County officials congratulated all participating artists for their contributions and creativity showcased throughout the exhibit.
