Mosquito spraying scheduled on Aug. 18 in three Morris County towns
MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — The Morris County Division of Mosquito Control announced that mosquito spraying is scheduled to take place Monday, Aug. 18, in parts of Morris Plains Borough, Morristown, and Morris Township due to increased adult mosquito populations.
Weather permitting, spraying will be conducted by all-terrain vehicle between 4 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. at Jim Fear Drive near the Community Park Pool in Morris Plains Borough.
That evening, from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., spraying will also occur by truck-mounted sprayer in multiple neighborhoods, including:
- Morristown: Abbett Avenue and George Gramby Park, Olyphant Drive, Jardine Road, George Street, Lincoln Street, Rowe Street, Martin Luther King Avenue, Spring Street, Bishop Nazery Way, Coal Avenue, Flagler Street, Clyde Potts Drive, Vail Place, Logan Place, Pocahontas Street, Lakeside Place, Cory Road, Hilairy Avenue, Garden Street, Cedar Street, Evergreen Cemetery, James Street, Erskine Drive, Lidgerwood Parkway, Windmill Drive, Burnham Parkway and Burnham Park, Scherzer Way, Overlook Road, Ogden Place, Carla Court, Jenni Lane, Robertson Court, Thomas Trail, Collins Drive, Paula Court, Rona Road, Budd Street, Miller Street, Cobb Place, Phoenix Avenue, Hillcrest Avenue, Edgar Place, Ann Street, Chestnut Street, Cherry Street, and Western Avenue between Cherry and Ann streets.
- Morris Township: Cory Road, Lake Valley Road and baseball field, Monroe Street, Hillcrest Avenue.
- Morris Plains Borough: Briant Road, Mill Road, Delmar Avenue, Ridgewood Road.
The treatments will use either Anvil 2+2 (active ingredient Sumithrin, EPA #1021-1687-8329) or Zenivex E4 (active ingredient Etofenprox, EPA #2724-807).
