Hunterdon Health earns 12th straight ‘A’ grade for hospital safety
RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County — Hunterdon Health has once again been recognized as one of the nation’s top-performing hospitals for patient safety, earning its 12th consecutive “A” from The Leapfrog Group in the watchdog organization’s Fall 2025 Hospital Safety Grade report.
The distinction highlights the hospital’s continued success in preventing medical errors, injuries, infections and other forms of avoidable harm, according to Leapfrog’s latest ratings.
“We are proud to be nationally recognized for patient safety by receiving twelve consecutive A grades. This signifies our outstanding effort and attention to patient safety which is at the forefront of everything we do,” said Patrick Gavin, President and CEO of Hunterdon Health.
The Leapfrog Group assigns letter grades—A, B, C, D or F—to general hospitals nationwide based on more than 30 performance measures related to patient harm and the systems hospitals use to prevent it. The Hospital Safety Grade is the only national ratings program focused exclusively on preventing medical errors, accidents, injuries and infections. Grades are peer-reviewed, fully transparent and publicly available, and are updated twice each year.
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Hunterdon Health, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”
The latest recognition underscores Hunterdon Health’s long-standing commitment to maintaining high safety standards and placing patient well-being at the center of its mission.
