Hunterdon County Chamber to host annual holiday parade Dec. 6 in Flemington

FLEMINGTON, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — The Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Holiday Parade on Saturday, Dec. 6, beginning at 5 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Flemington, the Chamber announced. The parade will include marching bands, community floats and a special appearance by Santa Claus.

More than 70 organizations are expected to participate, including the Hunterdon Central Marching Red Devils, classic and antique vehicles, local 4-H clubs and scout troops from across Hunterdon County. Multiple police departments, including Flemington Police, as well as fire departments from Flemington, Raritan Township, Amwell Valley and others, will take part. Rescue squads, including the Flemington-Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad, will also be represented.

The parade will feature community floats, youth groups and an appearance by Ronald McDonald accompanied by his signature red shoe car, which appears annually in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Pre-parade performances by Rogers Dance Academy and the Pro Kids and Teens Holiday Vocal Troupe will begin at 4 p.m. in front of the Historic Courthouse.

“The Holiday Parade is more than just a celebration — it’s a reflection of our community spirit and a way for businesses to give back,” said Chris Phelan, president of the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce. “Each year, this parade brings together families, local organizations, and businesses from every corner of Hunterdon County. It showcases the traditions we cherish and the partnerships that make our community strong. The 2025 parade is a testament to what we can accomplish when we come together with a shared purpose, and we are incredibly grateful for the businesses and volunteers whose dedication helps make this treasured event possible.”

The Chamber thanked this year’s lead sponsors — brightspeed Business, Hunterdon Health, Hunterdon Health Foundation and ShopRite of Hunterdon County — along with community partners including the Borough of Flemington, Hunterdon County, Flemington Police Department, local emergency management offices, the Flemington Fire Department, Flemington Department of Public Works, the Flemington-Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad and the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Office.

Additional supporters include Fusco’s Rental World, Showoff Productions, TAPinto Flemington/Raritan, Farmers Insurance Company of Flemington, McDonald’s Restaurants and Schaible’s Plumbing, Heating & Water Treatment.

Local businesses, organizations and volunteers interested in joining the parade are invited to contact the Chamber for participation details.

The parade route will travel from the Monument on Main Street to Church Street. Parking will be available in municipal and county lots and on side streets throughout downtown Flemington. Road closures along the route will be in effect from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
