Warren County hosts 20th Project Blue Light ceremony to honor fallen law enforcement
BELVIDERE, N.J. (Warren County) — The soft blue glow of lights on an evergreen in Garret D. Wall Park in Belvidere shone in remembrance Friday as Warren County marked the 20th annual Project Blue Light Law Enforcement Tree Lighting, honoring officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Deputy Commissioner Director Lori Ciesla and Commissioner James R. Kern III joined local law enforcement agencies and community members for the ceremony, which pays tribute to fallen officers and recognizes those who continue to serve and protect.
Project Blue Light, observed nationwide during the holiday season, has grown significantly in Warren County. What began as a small gathering now draws large crowds each year to the town square in front of the Warren County Courthouse, where the evergreen is lit in blue to symbolize remembrance and gratitude.
“As we enter the holiday season, please remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to serve and protect our communities,” county officials said in a statement.
The event provides residents an opportunity to reflect on the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers while showing support for those still on duty.
