Powerball jackpot reaches $1.7B as six New Jersey players, including one in Hunterdon County, win $50K

NEW JERSEY — The Powerball jackpot climbed to an estimated $1.7 billion after no ticket matched all five white balls and the Powerball in Monday night’s drawing, according to the New Jersey Lottery.

The jackpot’s estimated cash value now stands at $781.3 million heading into Wednesday’s Christmas Eve drawing. The Powerball jackpot has been won once on Christmas Eve, in 2011, and four times on Christmas Day, in 1996, 2002, 2010 and 2013. Drawings are livestreamed at 10:59 p.m. on Powerball.com.

The winning numbers drawn Monday were 3, 18, 36, 41 and 54, with the red Powerball 7. The Power Play multiplier was 2.

Although there was no jackpot winner, six New Jersey Lottery players matched four white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000 each. One of the winning tickets was sold in Hunterdon County.

The New Jersey $50,000-winning tickets were sold at the following locations: Europa Liquors in Newark, Krauszer’s #465 in North Brunswick, Dutch Mill Market in Milford, a 7-Eleven in Little Ferry, Country Farm in Sea Girt, and Quick Stop in Hazlet.

In the Double Play drawing, which is a separate drawing for players who opted into the Double Play feature, no New Jersey player won the top $10 million prize. The Double Play numbers were 14, 32, 47, 48 and 69, with Double Play ball 17. Thirty-one New Jersey players matched three white balls and the Double Play ball to win $500 each, while nine players matched four white balls to also win $500.

The current jackpot run began after two players in Missouri and Texas split a $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot on Sept. 6. Since then, 70 New Jersey players have won prizes of $50,000 or more, including one $2 million prize, five $1 million prizes, one $500,000 prize, four $200,000 toggle prizes and three $100,000 prizes.

The $1.7 billion jackpot ranks among the largest in Powerball history, trailing only the $2.04 billion jackpot won in California in November 2022, the $1.8 billion jackpot split by Missouri and Texas players in September 2025, and the $1.765 billion jackpot won in California in October 2023.
