LEGOLAND Discovery Center New Jersey to host kid-friendly Noon Year’s Eve celebration
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (Bergen County) — Families looking for a child-friendly way to welcome the New Year can do so with a midday celebration at LEGOLAND® Discovery Center New Jersey, which will host a special Noon Year’s Eve event on Wednesday, Dec. 31.
The event, scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., is designed for young children who may not be able to stay awake until midnight. Activities will lead up to a countdown at noon and are included with general admission, according to the attraction.
As part of the celebration, guests can view a LEGO® replica of the annual Times Square Ball Drop in the center’s MINILAND exhibit. MINILAND features detailed LEGO recreations of New York and New Jersey landmarks built from more than 1.5 million bricks. The Ball Drop model includes working LEGO motors, glow-in-the-dark bricks, fireworks elements, LEGO Minifigures taking photos, and a green-and-yellow “2026” sign atop the structure.
Families attending the event will also receive party favors such as hats, tiaras, sunglasses and beaded necklaces while supplies last. A photo opportunity featuring a LEGO Gingerbread Man will be available for guests to capture memories from the celebration.
The Noon Year’s Eve event offers children a chance to take part in a New Year’s countdown while still leaving the rest of the day open for family activities.
