
Three men charged after alleged shoplifting incident at Morris County Walmart
MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Three men from Morristown were charged with shoplifting and conspiracy following an incident Saturday night at a Walmart in Mount Olive Township, police said.
According to police, officers responded at about 7:34 p.m. on Jan. 10 to a report of shoplifting at the Walmart located at 40 International Drive South in the Flanders section of the township.
Upon arrival, officers were directed to the store’s loss prevention office, where three men were being detained by store personnel. Police identified the suspects as Douglas E. Lopezmendoza, 19; Luis E. Floresgonzalez, 22; and Brandon R. Perezlopez, 21, all of Morristown.
Loss prevention staff told police the men concealed electronics and jewelry in their jackets and pants and attempted to leave the store without paying. The total value of the merchandise was reported to be $902.52.
All three men were taken into custody and transported to police headquarters, where they were charged with shoplifting and conspiracy. They were later released pending a future court appearance.
