Woman charged with DWI after report of yelling from vehicle in Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A New York woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after police responded to a report of a woman yelling from a vehicle and driving through a residential parking lot early Thursday in Mount Olive Township, authorities said.

Police said the incident was reported about 4:40 a.m. Jan. 15 in the Eagle Rock Village area, where a caller reported a woman shouting from a motor vehicle and driving around the parking lot of Building 39.

An officer arrived and located a silver Nissan parked in the lot, police said. The driver was identified as Elizabeth A. Moore, 49, of Pearl River, New York.

Police said the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and noted Moore appeared impaired. She was asked to exit the vehicle for field sobriety testing and was arrested, authorities said.

Moore was taken to police headquarters and charged with DWI, reckless driving and failure to submit to chemical breath testing, police said. She was released to a sober driver pending a court hearing.
