Firefighters extinguish Route 206 car fire in Sussex County; no injuries reported

BYRAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Firefighters extinguished a fully involved vehicle fire Friday afternoon on Route 206 in Byram Township, and no injuries were reported, according to the Byram Fire Department.

The department said it was dispatched at about 1:30 p.m. Friday to a vehicle fire on Route 206. When crews arrived, they found a car fully involved in flames, officials said.

Police temporarily closed the roadway while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, the department said. The fire was brought under control quickly.

No injuries were reported and the incident remains under investigation, the department said.
