Barnyard Sanctuary in Warren County expands outreach, seeks volunteers and support

HOPE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — The Barnyard Sanctuary, a nonprofit animal rescue and rehabilitation organization in Warren County, is expanding its community outreach and seeking volunteers and support as it continues to grow its mission.

Founded in 2010, the sanctuary has rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed more than 4,000 animals, according to organization officials. Today, the facility cares for about 300 animals daily, providing food, shelter and medical attention.

Located on a 170-acre property in Hope Township, the sanctuary serves as a refuge for farm animals and wildlife while also aiming to connect the public with nature, conservation and animal welfare efforts.

Officials say the organization is working to expand programming and community engagement, including plans for hiking trails, educational tours, community events and conservation projects.

The sanctuary is also seeking volunteers to assist with animal care, landscaping, outreach and events. Volunteer opportunities are available on weekdays and weekends.

Organizers say the effort reflects a broader goal of building a space where the public can engage with environmental and animal welfare initiatives.

In addition to volunteer support, the organization is encouraging donations and community involvement to help sustain and expand its operations.
