Two injured in crash on Union Turnpike in Sussex County

FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Two people were taken to a local hospital Friday morning following a motor vehicle crash on Union Turnpike in Frankford Township, authorities said.

The Frankford Township Fire Department responded to the scene at 10:59 a.m. along with Blue Ridge Rescue Squad and Branchville Hose Company. New Jersey State Police also responded.

Emergency crews arrived to find two occupants who had exited the vehicle on their own prior to responders’ arrival, officials said. Firefighters remained on scene while a tow company removed the vehicle.

Both patients were transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
