UPDATE: Person dies after being pinned under truck in Morris County; driver flees

UPDATE: Morris County man charged in fatal hit-and-run; suspect remains at large

MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — A person died after being pinned under a truck Friday morning in Morristown, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police and emergency medical services responded around 7 a.m. to Sussex Avenue for a report of a person trapped beneath a vehicle. The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to Morristown Medical Center, where they later died.

Authorities said the driver of the truck fled the scene on foot.

The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office was notified, and additional resources, including the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 and Crime Scene units, were dispatched to assist in the investigation.

Officials said the incident remains under investigation. No further information was released.
