DoorDash launches gas relief program for drivers amid rising fuel costs
DoorDash has launched a temporary relief program aimed at helping its delivery drivers offset rising gas prices, the company announced.
The program offers 10% cash back on fuel purchases for U.S. Dashers using the DoorDash Crimson card, along with weekly payments for drivers who meet mileage thresholds while completing deliveries.
“Rising gas prices have a real impact on Dashers, especially those who are delivering the most. This program is about giving Dashers real savings at the pump.” — Cody Aughney, Vice President, Dasher and Logistics at DoorDash.
Drivers who log at least 125 miles in a week while actively delivering can receive payments ranging from $5 to $15, depending on mileage. Combined with the cash-back benefit, DoorDash estimates drivers could save between $1.40 and $1.90 per gallon.
The program is set to run through April 26, 2026.
Under the plan, drivers using the DoorDash Crimson Visa debit card will earn 10% cash back on gas purchases at any U.S. station, regardless of whether they are actively making deliveries at the time.
DoorDash said more than half of its drivers already use the Crimson card, and others can apply through the Dasher app.
The company said the weekly payments are designed to provide additional support for drivers who travel longer distances, particularly those in suburban and rural areas.
DoorDash also highlighted ongoing incentives for drivers using or considering electric vehicles, including cash-back rewards for charging and discounts through partner programs.
