County College of Morris to host Engineering Day on May 29
RANDOLPH TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — County College of Morris will host an Engineering Day on May 29, offering students, educators and career changers an opportunity to explore careers in engineering through hands-on activities.
The free event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the college’s Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Center, with lunch provided.
Organizers said the program will feature interactive workshops covering topics such as 3D printing, 3D modeling, material testing, robotics and electronics, along with demonstrations of equipment used in the college’s labs.
“CCM’s Engineering Day will feature interactive workshops on 3D printing, 3D modeling, material testing, robotics and electronics, providing students with valuable hands-on experience,” said Zahra Khalkhali, assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Technologies & Engineering Science at CCM. “Our experienced faculty will guide visitors through the department’s state-of-the-art equipment in the college’s labs and facilities, discuss academic pathways in engineering, and answer questions about careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).”
Attendees will also learn about CCM’s engineering and advanced manufacturing programs, including certificate programs that can be completed in less than a year and applied toward an associate degree.
Officials noted that engineering remains a high-demand field, with many careers offering salaries exceeding $100,000 annually and projected job growth in several disciplines through 2034.
Space for the event is limited, and pre-registration is encouraged. More information and registration details are available on the college’s website.
CCM is located at 214 Center Grove Road in Randolph Township.
