Sussex County Community College stages interactive “Clue” musical
NEWTON, N.J. (Sussex County) — Sussex County Community College’s Performing Arts program will present its spring production, “Clue the Musical,” an interactive show based on the classic Parker Brothers board game.
The production, written by Peter DePietro with music by Galen Blum, Wayne Barker and Vinnie Martucci, and lyrics by Tom Chiodo, invites audiences to help solve the mystery of who killed Mr. Boddy, in what room and with what weapon.
The show features audience participation, with attendees given forms to track clues and deduce the outcome as the performance unfolds. Organizers said the musical blends comedy, music and mystery, moving from room to room through a series of comedic and fast-paced scenes.
The cast includes Jason Cahill as Mr. Boddy, Nadia Cameron as Mrs. Peacock, Forest Winegar as Professor Plum, Nina Bennett as Miss Scarlett, Chris Fett as Mr. Green, Antonella Ferarri as Mrs. White, Danielle DiBattista as the Detective and alumnus Leo Watson as Colonel Mustard. Lydia Rivera serves as assistant director and alumnus Felicia Artrip is stage manager. Students from multiple classes, including properties, stage management and 3D animation, are also contributing to the production.
The production team includes director Professor Allison Ognibene, music director Dr. Deb Gianuzzi, choreographer Professor Madison Washer, costume designer Professor Camille Fuller, Professor Anthony Ur and his 3D class handling projections, Professor Gina Muth and the properties class, dramaturg Professor Richard Lear, Professor Petecca overseeing set construction and Tim O’Connor as sound engineer.
Performances are scheduled for Thursday, April 23, at 7 p.m.; Friday, April 24, at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
