Hunterdon County launches baby shower collection for women veterans
HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Hunterdon County officials have announced the launch of the 2026 Women Veterans Baby Shower Collection, an initiative aimed at supporting new and expecting mothers who served in the United States Armed Forces.
The collection drive, organized by the Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners, will run through May 30 and seeks donations of essential baby items for women veterans and their families.
“Supporting our veterans means supporting their families as well,” said Commissioner Susan Soloway. “This collection is an opportunity for our community to come together and provide practical items that can make a real difference for new and expecting mothers who have served our country.”
Requested donation items include diapers of all sizes, baby wipes, baby toiletries, new baby clothing and gift cards to Visa, Walmart, Target or Amazon. Officials said all donated items must be new and unused.
Donations can be dropped off at several locations throughout Hunterdon County, including the county administration building lobby and county clerk’s office at 71 Main St. in Flemington, the Department of Human Services at 8 Gauntt Place in Flemington, the Hunterdon County Main Branch Library at 314 Route 12 in Flemington, the North County Branch Library at 65 Halstead St. in Clinton and the Justice Center at 65 Park Ave. in Flemington.
County officials are encouraging residents, businesses, civic organizations and community partners to participate in the collection effort.
“Every donation, large or small, helps honor the service and sacrifice of those who have served our nation while assisting them during an important new chapter in their lives,” the county said in a statement.
