Driver charged with DWI after crashing into guardrail in Morris County

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A Hackettstown man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a vehicle crashed into a guardrail in Mount Olive Township, police said.

Officers responded at approximately 9:35 a.m. June 21 to the intersection of Flanders-Drakestown Road and River Road for a reported motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, police found a Chevrolet Cruze that had struck a guardrail.

The driver was identified as Enoch B. Oyekanmi Jr., 32, of Hackettstown.

According to police, the responding officer observed signs that Oyekanmi appeared to be impaired. After an investigation and field sobriety testing, he was placed under arrest.

Oyekanmi was transported to police headquarters and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

He was released to a sober driver pending a court hearing, police said.
