Hunterdon County community donates baby supplies, gift cards for women veterans and military families

HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Hunterdon County’s annual Women Veterans Baby Shower donation drive raised more than $1,200 in baby supplies and gift cards to benefit women veterans and military families throughout the region, county officials announced.

The community-wide collection effort generated more than $800 in baby supplies and more than $400 in gift card donations. The drive was held in conjunction with the Women Veterans Baby Shower, an event that celebrates women veterans while connecting them with available resources, benefits and support services.

Residents, community organizations, county employees and local partners contributed diapers, wipes, clothing, baby care essentials and other supplies for new and expectant mothers.

Commissioner Susan J. Soloway, the county’s liaison to Veterans Affairs, thanked the community for its support.

“The response from our community was truly heartwarming,” said Commissioner Soloway. “The donations collected through this effort will help provide meaningful support to women veterans and military families during an exciting and important time in their lives. It is wonderful to see so many residents come together to give back to those who have given so much in service to our country.”

In addition to donated supplies, the gift cards will allow recipients to purchase items tailored to the specific needs of their families.

County officials said the Women Veterans Baby Shower recognizes the growing population of women veterans while helping connect participants with programs and services available to them and their families.

“Supporting veterans extends beyond recognizing their service,” Soloway added. “It also means ensuring they have access to resources and community support as they navigate important milestones in their lives. These donations are a reflection of the gratitude and appreciation our community has for the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families.”

Hunterdon County officials expressed their appreciation to everyone who participated in the donation drive, saying the community’s generosity will provide practical assistance and support to women veterans and military families across the region.
