The Grand Café celebrates 45 years of dining in Morris County
MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Morris County) — The Grand Café marked its 45th anniversary Wednesday with recognition from Morris County officials, celebrating more than four decades of serving the Morristown community.
Morris County Commissioner Director Stephen Shaw and the Morris County Board of County Commissioners presented the restaurant, located at 42 Washington St., with a commemorative plaque honoring the legacy of founders Desmond and Alice Lloyd and recognizing the restaurant’s continued operation under the leadership of their daughter, Allison Lloyd Porter.
Sheriff James Gannon also presented a plaque on behalf of Morris County Crime Stoppers, alongside Chairman John Sette. Assemblywoman Aura Dunn and Chiara Garcia, chief of staff to Sen. Anthony M. Bucco, presented a joint legislative citation on behalf of the 25th Legislative District. Morristown Fire Chief Bob Flanagan also congratulated the restaurant on the milestone.
Surrounded by family members, longtime employees and loyal customers, Lloyd Porter pledged to continue the tradition established by her parents as the restaurant begins a month-long anniversary celebration.
Throughout July, The Grand Café will offer 45% off select wines, a $45 prix-fixe lunch and live piano music every Saturday evening to commemorate its 45 years in business.
Founded in 1981, The Grand Café has been a longtime fixture in downtown Morristown, serving French-inspired cuisine and welcoming generations of diners.
