MORRIS COUNTY, N.J. — The Morris County Mosquito Commission plans to conduct mosquito control treatments in portions of Montville and Jefferson on Wednesday, July 29, weather permitting, following an increase in adult mosquito populations.
The commission will treat wooded areas at Montville Community Park and Amphitheater along Horseneck Road between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. using an all-terrain vehicle.
Later that evening, crews will conduct truck-mounted mosquito spraying in the area of Camp Jefferson along Weldon Road in Jefferson Township between 9 p.m. and midnight.
According to the commission, applicators will use either Anvil 2+2, containing the active ingredient sumithrin, or Zenivex E4, containing the active ingredient etofenprox. Both products are registered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for mosquito control.
The treatments are scheduled in response to an increase in adult mosquito populations and are subject to weather conditions.
