CLINTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — A reported stolen U-Haul commercial van was recovered earlier this month after the Clinton Township Police Department received an alert from the township’s Flock Safety camera system, authorities said.
Police said the recovery occurred July 8 after patrol officers were notified that the stolen GMC van had entered the township.
Officers located the vehicle traveling north on Route 31 and conducted a felony motor vehicle stop on Troon Terrace.
An investigation determined the van was a rental vehicle that had not been returned by the date specified in its rental agreement, police said.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Kripsson O. Pena-Gimenez of Trenton, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.
Pena-Gimenez was released pending a future court appearance after being provided copies of the charge.
Police impounded the stolen van and said officers ensured its cargo, consisting of local delivery packages, was delivered to its intended recipients.
