
Pedestrian struck by vehicle on Route 517 in Warren County
INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning on Route 517 in Independence Township and was flown to a hospital for treatment, according to police.
Police said officers were dispatched to the intersection of Route 517 and Ridge Lane at approximately 6:55 a.m. for a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian with injuries.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 35-year-old woman was walking north along the southbound shoulder of Route 517 when a vehicle exiting Ridge Lane and attempting to turn south onto Route 517 struck her.
The woman was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center, where she awaited transport by medical helicopter.
The crash remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
