Hunterdon Health to host Main Street Half Marathon, Fall Fest in October

HUNTERDON COUNTY, N.J. — Hunterdon Health will host a weekend of running and family activities in October to benefit the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center.

The weekend will begin Saturday, Oct. 17, with the Hunterdon Health Fall Fest, Main Street Half Marathon Expo and Superhero Sprint at Hunterdon Medical Center. The festival will run from noon to 3 p.m.

The free community event will feature local food trucks, pony rides, a petting zoo, local vendors and a children’s costume contest. Participants in the Main Street Half Marathon will also be able to pick up their race packets during the event.

The Superhero Sprint, designed for younger runners, is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Although admission to the festival is free, advance registration is required to participate in the sprint.

The weekend will continue Sunday, Oct. 18, with the Main Street Half Marathon and 4-Miler of Hunterdon.

Race-day shuttles will depart from Hunterdon Medical Center beginning at 6 a.m. A finish line party will be held at the medical center following the races.

Organizers are also encouraging community members who are not running to participate by joining cheer squads along the course or volunteering.

Proceeds from race registrations will benefit the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center.
