Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream Inc. is voluntarily recalling select Outshine Fruit Bars distributed nationwide because they may contain pieces of glass.
The recall, announced Aug. 18, affects certain lots of Outshine Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry six-count 2.5-ounce Fruit Bars, as well as Outshine 24-count 2.5-ounce Variety Pack Fruit Bars.
Dreyer’s said it initiated the recall out of an abundance of caution after receiving consumer reports of glass in the product. No illnesses or injuries have been reported.
The affected products can be identified by batch codes and best-before dates printed on the bottom of the packaging.

Dreyer’s said no other Outshine products or varieties are included in the recall. Only the specified five flavors of six-count 2.5-ounce bars and the 24-count 2.5-ounce Variety Pack are affected.
Consumers who purchased recalled products should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Anyone concerned about a possible injury should contact a health care provider immediately.
