
Man charged after alleged sexual contact involving juvenile in Morris County
DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — A 21-year-old New York man was arrested Friday after he allegedly inappropriately grabbed a juvenile girl in Denville Township and then attempted to leave the area in an Uber, according to police.
Police said officers responded at approximately 4:20 p.m. Aug. 21 to a report involving a juvenile female who was allegedly grabbed inappropriately by an adult male who subsequently fled the area.
Shortly after the initial 911 call, responding officers located and apprehended the suspect on Broadway as he attempted to leave the area in an Uber, police said.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as Ronald Hidary, 21, of Manhattan.
Hidary was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual contact and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.
Hidary was subsequently transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility, where police said he will remain lodged pending a future appearance in Morris County Superior Court.
