Former professional pitcher Tim Bausher named Centenary University head baseball coach
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — Centenary University has named former professional pitcher and collegiate coach Tim Bausher as the new head coach of its baseball program, the university announced.
Bausher played professional baseball from 2001 through 2008 and reached the major leagues in 2005 when he was called up by the Boston Red Sox. He also competed in the Seattle Mariners, Milwaukee Brewers, Colorado Rockies, Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Royals organizations.

His appointment reflects our broader commitment to excellence, and we are excited to see Centenary Baseball continue its rise as we prepare to join the United East Conference.”
Bausher takes over a Cyclones program that reached several milestones during the 2026 season, including becoming the first team in program history to host the Atlantic East Conference Championship Tournament.
He comes to Centenary after serving as pitching coach at NCAA Division II Pace University since 2019. During his tenure, the Setters won their first conference championship in program history in 2023 and another conference title in 2025.

Bausher’s coaching approach emphasizes fitness, discipline, teamwork, preparation, collaboration and positive reinforcement, according to the university.
His appointment comes as Centenary prepares to join the United East Conference on July 1, 2027.

The leadership from the University and athletic department are exceptional, and I look forward to developing our baseball players as students and athletes.”
