Marcade Family Fun Center at Rockaway mall to reopen Friday after flooding damaged arcade

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) — Marcade Family Fun Center at the Rockaway mall will reopen Friday morning, four days after flooding damaged more than a dozen arcade games and caused portions of the ceiling to collapse, according to the business.

Marcade announced Thursday that it will reopen at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, following several days of cleanup and repairs.

“We are back OPEN TOMORROW morning!!! 10am we are open and ready! Thank you to all of you for your support during this hellacious week! 4 DAYS!! We got it done!” the business said.

The arcade temporarily closed Monday, Aug. 31, after flooding occurred overnight Sunday. Marcade said a food court business left water running throughout the night, resulting in an estimated 200 to 300 gallons of water flooding the lower level and initially entering the arcade’s space.

“A food court shop left the water on all night Sunday and it flooded the lower floor starting in our space. Some games were ruined and parts of the ceiling collapsed,” Marcade Family Fun Center said at the time.

The business said a dozen or more arcade games were “trashed” as a result of the flooding.

Marcade Family Fun Center is located at the Rockaway mall, 301 Mount Hope Ave. in Rockaway Township.
