ANDOVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County — One person died and two others were hospitalized following a head-on crash on Route 206 in Andover Township Saturday afternoon, according to police.
Andover Township police were dispatched to the crash at about 2:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, on Route 206 near the Andover Borough line.
A preliminary investigation determined that a vehicle traveling north on Route 206 crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a vehicle traveling south, police said.
Emergency medical care was provided to three people. One person was taken by ambulance to Morristown Medical Center, while another was airlifted to the same hospital.
A third person was transported by ambulance to the Newton Medical Center, where the person was pronounced dead, according to police.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police said no additional information, including the identities of those involved, will be released until appropriate notifications are made.
