Nearly 9,000 vote by mail ballots delivered to post office for June primary in Warren County
BELVIDERE, NJ (Warren County) – It happens twice a year, and one of those times was Thursday morning—8,929 requested vote by mail ballots for the upcoming June primary election have been delivered to the post office, according to a Facebook post from Warren County Clerk Holly Mackey.
Some “gentle” reminders about this process: All of the ballots are delivered to the USPS at the same time, and the local Belvidere postal crew sends them off to the USPS sorting facility all together. “We have photos & emails to prove it lol!” Mackey wrote.
“What happens to them at the sorting facility is as mysterious as Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory before the golden tickets,” Mackey added. Because of this, there is no guarantee that all members of the same household will receive their ballots on the same day.
Mackey and her staff ask voters to wait until at least May 1 before calling to report “missing” ballots to allow time for the sorting and delivery process to work itself out.
