Morris County law enforcement to participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Oct. 26
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, along with local law enforcement leaders, is set to participate in the annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 26.
This nationwide initiative is coordinated by the United States Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), aiming to facilitate the safe disposal of unused, unwanted, or expired prescription medications.
The event, running from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., encourages residents to anonymously turn over their medications at designated collection sites. Participating in this year’s effort are the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, the Hanover Township Police Department, the Morris Plains Borough Police Department, the Morris Township Police Department, and the Randolph Township Police Department. Together, they aim to combat the misuse and abuse of prescription drugs in the community.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office will collect the discarded medications at the end of the day for safe and non-hazardous destruction.
