Vets Summer Music Fest returns to Vasa Park Sept. 13 to support Operation Chillout
BUDD LAKE, N.J. (Morris County) — The annual Vets Summer Music Fest will return to Vasa Park in Budd Lake on Sunday, Sept. 13, bringing together live music, a motorcycle run and family activities while raising money to support Operation Chillout.
The outdoor festival will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Vasa Park, 1 Wolfe Road, and is being held to honor military veterans and raise funds and awareness for Operation Chillout, an all-volunteer homeless outreach organization.
The festival will feature performances from seven regional bands and guest artists across multiple genres. Food trucks, a beer garden and a kids zone featuring patriotic pumpkin painting, games and entertainment will also be available.
A charity motorcycle run will take place before the festival, beginning at American Legion Post 164, 494 Willow Grove St. in Hackettstown. Breakfast will begin at 8 a.m., with kickstands up at 10 a.m.
The motorcycle run costs $20 per rider and $10 per passenger, while children are free. The cost includes breakfast, the escorted ride and admission to the festival.
All proceeds from the event will directly support Operation Chillout and its homeless veteran outreach programs.
Founded in 2000, Operation Chillout is a nonprofit, all-volunteer mobile outreach organization serving homeless veterans, men and women throughout New Jersey. Its efforts include direct intervention, winter gear drives, summer water relief campaigns and long-term advocacy.
