
Driver seriously injured in early-morning crash on I-80 in Morris County
MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Morris County) – A 27-year-old Kearny man was seriously injured early Saturday after his Lexus ran off Interstate 80 and struck the end of a guardrail in Montville Township, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at about 2:30 a.m. on I-80 west near milepost 47.8, state police spokesman Tpr. II Christopher Postorino said.
A preliminary investigation determined that Jonathan Vinanzaca-Quizhpi was driving west when his vehicle ran off the road to the left and struck the end of the guardrail, Postorino said.
Vinanzaca-Quizhpi sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to an area hospital, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation. No additional information was immediately available.
