KINGWOOD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Hunterdon County) — Tavern 519, located at 650 County Road 519 in Kingwood Township, is changing hands, with its current owners announcing that Henry and his partners, who are associated with the Sergeantsville Inn, will take over the business.
The owners announced the change in a post on Tavern 519’s Facebook page, saying the decision was not an easy one but that they believe it is right for the future of the tavern.
“They always say timing is everything—and then along came Henry and his partners, whom many of you already know from the Sergeantsville Inn. He approached us with not only great enthusiasm, but also a genuine desire to continue the vision we started: building on and improving Tavern 519 while preserving the vibe you have all come to know and love,” the owners said.
The Marinelli brothers and their families thanked their family, friends, current and former staff and the community for supporting them after they took on the reopening of the longtime local tavern.
“To say we have been blessed to see Tavern 519 take off the way it has would be an understatement. We have so many people to thank for believing in us and for working incredibly hard alongside us to make it all happen,” the post said.
The owners said they will now be “passing the bar tap over to Henry and his partners” and wished the new owners years of success.
“This was not an easy decision, but ultimately, it was one we felt was right for us and for the future of Tavern 519 that we had always envisioned,” the owners said.
Existing Tavern 519 gift certificates will continue to be honored, according to the post.
“At the end of the day, what made the tavern so special was never just the building. It was the people and the community who filled it, supported it, and made it what it is. For that, we will be forever grateful—more than words could ever express,” the owners said.
