Hackettstown Rotary to hold fall shredding event Oct. 17
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Warren County) — The Hackettstown Rotary Club will hold its biannual fall shredding event Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Fulton Bank parking lot at 176 Mountain Ave.
The event is open to people from all communities and will continue until noon or until the shredding truck is full.
The cost is $5 per bag or box. Proceeds will benefit more than 35 community organizations supported by the Hackettstown Rotary Foundation.
Organizers said early arrivals cannot be accommodated because of traffic concerns.
An Abilities donation truck will also be at the event to accept a variety of small electronics free of charge. A $25 donation will be required for large-screen televisions.
Organizations supported by the Hackettstown Rotary Foundation include Abilities, Alina Lodge, The Arc of Warren County, CASA SHaW, the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center, Gift of Life, Hackettstown Free Public Library, Hackettstown Medical Center Foundation, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, Trinity Church and local food pantries.
The foundation also provides scholarships for students at Hackettstown High School and Warren County Technical School.
Internationally, the Rotary supports the Cure Blindness initiative of the Himalayan Cataract Project as part of its peace-related efforts.
Rotary International is a global network of about 1.4 million members who work on community and international service projects.
