Rockaway Borough police say report of man shooting mother, threatening to shoot officers is false

ROCKAWAY BOROUGH, N.J. (Morris County) — Rockaway Borough police said Wednesday that a report claiming a man had shot his mother and threatened to shoot police officers was false.

According to the Rockaway Borough Police Department, the report alleged that a man had shot his mother and would shoot responding officers. Police confirmed that the information was false and said there was no reason for the public to be concerned.

The department also thanked those who contacted police to make them aware of additional false reports circulating about the alleged situation.
