Congressman Tom Kean Jr. visits Somerset County manufacturer to discuss jobs, workforce training

BRANCHBURG TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Somerset County) — U.S. Rep. Tom Kean Jr. recently visited Triad Tool Company Inc. in Branchburg alongside representatives from the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) to tour the facility, meet with company leadership and discuss the future of advanced manufacturing in New Jersey.

The visit, announced Monday, Oct. 26, highlighted the company’s manufacturing operations, workforce development efforts and role in producing precision components for the aerospace, defense, power generation and telecommunications industries.

Founded in 1933, Triad Tool is a fourth-generation, family-owned contract manufacturer specializing in close-tolerance computer numerical control (CNC) precision machining. The company provides CNC machining and turning, wire electrical discharge machining, abrasive waterjet cutting, inspection and build-to-print subassembly services.

“New Jersey has the talent, ingenuity, and industrial expertise to lead the next generation of American manufacturing, and companies like Triad Tool are proving it every day,” said Congressman Kean. “Our responsibility in Congress is to ensure that businesses like these have the tools to compete and grow. That means strengthening domestic supply chains, expanding access to skilled workforce training, and advancing commonsense policies that encourage innovation and private investment.”

Kean, who represents New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, emphasized the importance of supporting domestic manufacturing and maintaining a skilled workforce as companies compete in increasingly specialized industries.

“Triad Tool’s longstanding commitment to New Jersey and its workforce underscores what’s at stake: protecting good-paying American jobs, creating opportunities for the next generation, and ensuring the United States remains a global leader in advanced manufacturing,” Kean continued.

The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program works with manufacturers throughout the state to provide resources and assistance related to workforce development, training and business operations. Representatives from the organization accompanied Kean during the visit to learn more about Triad Tool’s capabilities and workforce needs.

“The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NJMEP) applauds Rep Tom Kean Jr. for supporting New Jersey Manufacturers,” said Judith Fleischer, Special Projects at New Jersey Manufacturers Extension Program, Inc. “He has visited numerous companies over the last few years and most recently, Magna-Power Electronics and Triad Tool. NJMEP thanks him for this effort.”

Triad Tool CEO John Staudinger said the company’s relationship with NJMEP has helped support its efforts to recruit and train workers for specialized manufacturing careers, particularly those involving components used in the aerospace and defense industries.

“Triad Tool was honored to welcome Congressman Tom Kean Jr. and the NJMEP team to our facility,” said Triad Tool CEO John Staudinger. “For many years, NJMEP training grants have helped us recruit and train young people for highly skilled careers manufacturing critical components for America’s aerospace and defense industries. Congressman Kean’s support for strong national defense investment and well-targeted tariffs that level the playing field for American manufacturers is important to bringing work home, protecting our industrial base, and creating good-paying jobs here in New Jersey”

Staudinger also expressed appreciation for the congressman’s interest in the company’s operations and its efforts to maintain and expand manufacturing jobs in New Jersey.

“We appreciate his taking the time to meet our team, see our capabilities firsthand, and support our efforts to retain and grow this 93-year-old New Jersey manufacturing company,” Staudinger continued.

The visit was part of Kean’s ongoing engagement with manufacturers in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, with discussions focusing on domestic supply chains, workforce training and policies affecting the manufacturing sector.
