UPDATE: On Tuesday, June 7, at around 10:20 p.m. with the assistance of Newark Police Department authorities were able to locate Dover at an undisclosed location in Newark. Dover was unharmed and safe. Franklin Township detectives subsequently traveled to Newark to speak with her and conclude their missing person’s investigation, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance with locating a 29-year-old Franklin Township woman, according to Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Annmarie Taggart.
On Monday, May 30, at around 4:59 p.m. Shekinah D. Dover was reported missing to the Franklin Township Police Department by her mother. Detectives immediately initiated a missing person investigation and entered her into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a missing person to include an immediate release of a TRAK Law Enforcement Bulletin, Taggart said.
Franklin Township detectives assigned to the investigation were able to observe Dover on surveillance video in the vicinity of Bridge Street and Grove Street in Somerville on May 29 at around 2:45 p.m. She was then last seen walking on Grove Street towards Main Street, Somerville, Taggart said.
Then on Tuesday, June 7, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit were advised of the on-going missing person’s investigation and are now assisting the Franklin Township Police Department, Taggart said.
Dover is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing approximately 160 pounds. She was last seen wearing a sage green Nike hoodie sweatshirt, black leggings, burgundy flat shoes and a silver ring on her right finger.
