Alternating single-lane traffic scheduled June 24 at Portland-Columbia Toll Bridge

COLUMBIA, N.J. (Warren County) — Motorists traveling across the Portland-Columbia Toll Bridge should expect delays Wednesday as maintenance work will require alternating single-lane traffic.

The Portland-Columbia Toll Bridge, which carries Routes 46, 611 and 94 between New Jersey and Pennsylvania, is scheduled to be restricted to one alternating lane of travel controlled by flaggers from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 24.

According to bridge officials, the traffic restriction is necessary to allow crews to perform patch work on a concrete roadway slab on the Pennsylvania approach to the bridge.

Motorists are urged to reduce speeds, use caution and follow directions from flaggers while traveling through the work zone.

Officials noted that the scheduled lane restriction is subject to change because of weather conditions, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.
