Atlantic Health named to Fortune ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ list for 17th year

NEW JERSEY — Atlantic Health has been named to the Fortune and Great Place to Work “100 Best Companies to Work For” list for the 17th consecutive year, ranking No. 75 in 2026.

The recognition highlights the health system’s continued focus on workplace culture and employee experience, as well as its role as a major employer in New Jersey and nationwide.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our amazing team, the driving force behind every life we touch, every achievement, every breakthrough,” said Saad Ehtisham, DHA, FACHE, President and CEO of Atlantic Health. “As a national leader in health care, we understand that our highly engaged workforce is the foundation for fulfilling our promise to patients and their families. Knowing our team feels valued, supported and connected to our purpose is our greatest honor.”

Atlantic Health operates more than 550 sites of care, including Morristown Medical Center, Overlook Medical Center, Chilton Medical Center, Newton Medical Center and Hackettstown Medical Center, along with specialty facilities and medical groups across the region.

“For 17 years, our team has earned national recognition for creating a workplace defined by our Culture of Extraordinary Caring,” said Nikki Sumpter, Executive Vice President, Chief People and Administrative Officer, Atlantic Health. “Our teams are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to a workplace where well-being, purpose, and pride thrive. This achievement belongs to every team member who makes Atlantic Health an extraordinary place to work.”

The annual list recognizes companies that foster high-trust workplace environments based on employee feedback and organizational data. According to Great Place to Work, more than 1.3 million employees nationwide participated in the survey process used to determine rankings.

“Trust in the organization is a leading indicator of business performance,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “When employees trust their leaders, they are more willing to give extra effort, embrace innovation like new AI tools, and deliver a better experience to customers.”

Bush added that high-trust workplaces often see stronger growth and performance.

“The companies on this list know that trust is a competitive edge — one that can’t be stolen or mimicked by competitors or replaced by machines,” Bush said. “In the face of market uncertainty, the data proves that high-trust workplaces see faster growth and higher returns.”

Atlantic Health is the only New Jersey-based health care company to be included on the list for 17 consecutive years. The system appears alongside major national organizations such as Cisco, Hilton and Wegmans Food Markets.
