Authorities investigate death of woman found in hot tub at Sussex County home

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sussex County) — Authorities are investigating the death of a 66-year-old woman who was found unresponsive in a hot tub at a River Road residence in Montague Township early Tuesday, officials said.

The woman was last seen alive the previous evening before she was discovered around 6 a.m., according to the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Emergency responders, New Jersey State Police crime scene investigators and the prosecutor’s office processed the scene.

Officials said there were no immediate signs of foul play. The cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.
