Bill to improve NJMVC online experience passes committee

NEW JERSEY – The Senate Transportation Committee on Monday passed Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco’s (R-25) bill to enhance customer service at the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission by ensuring residents have access to live support when they need help with online transactions.

“As more services move online, it’s important that we make the MVC experience as smooth and accessible as possible,” said Bucco. “This legislation would enhance customer service by ensuring residents have access to live support when they need help with online transactions. It’s a common-sense step that will make it easier for New Jerseyans to get their tasks done quickly and efficiently, and on with their daily lives.”

The bill, S-1021, requires the New Jersey MVC to maintain a telephone call center located within New Jersey where commission employees are available weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to assist in navigating the MVC’s website and processing online transactions.
