Crews battle house fire in Warren County

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a structure fire Saturday morning at a residence in the 100 block of Snyder Road in Mansfield Township, authorities said.

The Mansfield Township Fire Company and the Tri-County Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched at about 10:45 a.m. After multiple calls reporting the fire, a first-alarm assignment was requested.

The first chief on scene reported a large two-and-a-half-story residential structure with heavy fire showing from the rear and side of the home. Fire crews stretched multiple hose lines and began an interior attack to knock down the fire, officials said.

Crews from departments across Warren and Morris counties remained on scene for approximately four hours, battling extreme cold conditions, limited water supply in a non-hydranted area and difficult fire conditions.

Officials thanked local mutual aid departments for their assistance during the response.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Washington Township Fire Marshal’s Office in Morris County.
